We’ve come up with something different… Something you haven’t seen before.
The new Milos Experimental Stage.
Don’t forget your handkerchiefs…

A contemporary version of the play by G. Xenopoulos
The Experimental Stage will fill with young people:
university students and Arsakeio schoolgirls.
They will fall in love, get angry, disagree,
rebel, and declare themselves ready
to sacrifice themselves for their ideas and their love.
On the other side are the ancestor-worshippers,
the “patriots”, the victims of propaganda,
there is violent repression,
the imposition of power, and blood spilled in the demonstrations.
Language becomes a weapon of violence and power.
(Conservatism and the intervention of the Church
dominate matters of education,
and even the most liberal and democratic forces
give in to its demands.)
The social revolution
for progress and development is drowned in blood,
and liberal ideas and their pioneers
are equated with chaos and anarchy.
From 1903, when Grigorios Xenopoulos
wrote “The Students”,
to this day,
the picture of Greece has not changed much.
