Romeo and Juliet… but Bost.
The sacred heirloom of Western European drama in the hands of our great Mentis Bostantzoglou, known to the world as Bost. This is the man who so easily dared to take on Euripides’ Medea, so of course he would dare to take on Shakespeare. But his aim is never to ridicule or demolish the myth. Using the story as a starting point, Bost builds a topical, subversive masterpiece with his famous wordplay, which, as a deep connoisseur of Greek, he also uses without any intention of insulting our language. You could say he creates a theatrical cartoon in which everything is overturned and undone at every moment, and his characters seem to leap out of his wonderful drawings. His aim is to expose the ills of the present or compare them with the past. In this way he creates a unique kind of theatre of his own that fits no category and certainly cannot be translated into any other language.
