A theatrical collaboration
On 2 May, Dawn King’s play “Foxes” was performed at the Adamas Cultural Centre. The production was the result of a collaboration between the Mykonos Theatre Group and the Milos Experimental Stage.
The need for this collaboration became clear at the Aegean Amateur Theatre Meetings, together with a wish for more contact between us. Our islands are so close, and yet so hard to travel between, especially in the winter months. That did not hold our collaboration back. The particular way we feel about amateur theatre, and the respect that grew between us from a shared idea of what quality theatre work means, helped us overcome the obstacles and make this joint presentation happen.
The cast were Artemis Efthymis, Rafaella Ververi, Maria Chintiraki and Dominikos Koukas, who also directed.
After this, all we can think is that we want… more. Thank you to our colleagues who closed their shops and left their jobs to cross half the Aegean in two days, so that we could share this magical theatrical journey for a few hours.
