A portrait of everyday life on Milos, 1945–1970
A dramatised presentation of the book by our fellow islander Mrs Pantelena Xydou. The book tells, with charm and authenticity, of everyday farming life in the country houses of Milos between 1945 and 1970, and its stage presentation brought tears to the eyes of many islanders, reminding them of their own experiences. Mrs Xydou’s book is both a fine piece of literature and an important folklore document of life on Milos in the last century, and it has earned its place in the island’s folklore literature. The Milos Experimental Stage wishes to thank Mrs Xydou publicly for the honour of entrusting us with the publication and presentation of her work.
